The Challenge:
Due to the increased needs of neighbors in our communities we need to raise
$100,000.00. As families have suffered financial hardships due to loss of jobs and
home foreclosure, we see more opportunities to serve those needs.
The Need:
Women and children are the most recent casualties of rising poverty and homelessness
in Central Florida. Comprehensive care for these individuals is what is needed.
Due to staffing and other needs, we have a waiting list.
According to a Plant City housing authority employee 25 families a day are turned away for housing
assistance. There are 1884 children who are homeless in Polk County. There are 40,000 homeless
people in a 50-mile radius of our campus.
