Before Lighthouse, Glen found himself living an unstable lifestyle addicted to cocaine and separated from his wife and three children. He finally came to a breaking point. His mother had passed away and he was completely isolated from his children. Glen knew he had a choice to make.

“I realized it was time to get my life straight and be the man God called me to be. I needed to be a role model for my kids.”

Glen sought help in the Emmanuel Program of Lighthouse Ministries. Stepping into the program was a step into a new life. Glen received counseling and discipleship classes daily and completed an outside drug rehabilitation program. Not stopping there, Glen went on to graduate from the NOVA Adult Learning and Career Center. “I learned to trust God and not myself. I learned to let Him lead. It’s a tough road, but God brought me through. He’s given me His peace and joy.”

Now working as the front desk supervisor for the Lighthouse Men’s Gospel Rescue Mission, Glen uses what he’s learned to help others on the street find their way to God. He recalls one man who recently came into the program. “He told me that he used to watch me work,” said Glen, “He wanted to experience what I have so he applied to the program.”

Glen praises God for restoring him to back to his children. He knows if it weren’t for the work of Lighthouse he wouldn’t be where he is today. In addition, Glen is praying for a future in counseling. “I want to help counsel others on the street. I know what they’re doing and where they’re  going. I’ve been there and I want to help.”
