Community Outreach - At Their Need
H.O.P.E. Outreach operates within the Lighthouse family store locations in Lakeland, Auburndale, Winter Haven, Brandon, and Plant City. Through the outreach program, Lighthouse is able to provide free case management, food, clothing, household items, furniture, toys for children, and referral services to those in need.
The H.O.P.E. Center is staffed with managers who are equipped to personally meet with the poor and at-risk in West Central Florida. They pray with each candidate, offer spiritual support, and meet their need wherever they can; whether it's with a food box, clothing or furniture. The H.O.P.E. Center gives us the opportunity to personally meet those who are struggling in the community and point them toward God’s peace.
H.O.P.E. Outreach relies on donations from community supporters in order to provide for community and resident needs.

In the fall of 2008, Lighthouse Ministries launched its food box distribution program. This program serves the poor and at- risk families in West Central Florida. Churches receive food boxes from Lighthouse Ministries, which are then distributed to local families in need. This gives the churches the opportunity to pray and serve these families, and it allows Lighthouse the opportunity to help families they wouldn’t be able to meet otherwise.
We are seeing families being drained because of the economic hurt they have suffered with this economy; it is so difficult for people to make ends meet. Those families who have been hit especially hard are those who have had serious blows to their income status such as a loss of job, a medical issue, an addiction issue or some ongoing behavioral problem in the family that brings the whole family down.
Our church partners continue to share with us that we are positively affecting families by helping them avoid homelessness. Most of the churches are also reporting that these individuals are now experiencing spiritual growth through our partnership.
